Napa Infant-Parent Mental Health Fellowship

UC Davis Continuing and Professional Education (CPE), the Parent-Infant & Child Institute (PICI) in Napa, and the Neurosequential Model Network (NMN) are pleased to release the application for the 2024-2025 UC Davis CPE Napa Infant-Parent & Early Childhood Mental Health Fellowship. This remarkable program is unlike any in the world, and provides working professionals the opportunity to engage in an outstanding 15-month specialty training program through classes offered monthly online. The Napa Fellowship has won awards in California and nationally, and has been training providers in the infant mental health field continuously for 22 years.

This is a 15-month intensive transdisciplinary program for professionals working with, or moving into roles working with, young children and their families. The online class meets monthly for 2-3-day training sessions, primarily held Friday-Sunday. We are committed to inter-disciplinary training based on a practice model encompassing promotion, prevention, early intervention, pan-disciplinary services and discipline-specific services.

  • Participation is open to post-baccalaureate clinical and educational professionals including physicians, nurses, psychologists, social workers, special educators and other specialty practitioners.

  • This remarkable program provides a rich, interdisciplinary learning experience designed to equip professionals with the latest thinking and research on models of care and to support a deep and broad understanding of relationship-based therapies. Participants have the opportunity to hear from and interact with some of the most recognized experts in the field of infant mental health and to engage in a practice-based mentoring model.
  • Will I earn graduate credit or certification?
  • The program’s graduates are among a small group of providers in the United States formally trained in this important field. The program confers 23 units of academic credit in the graduate professional series at UC Davis, and it fulfills requirements in California and Michigan for certification as an Infant Mental Health Specialist.
