Environmental Statistics Refresher
Environmental statistics can be used to help answer questions related to the social, economic and natural aspects of a project. In this class designed for professionals seeking to improve their general understanding of statistics, or who plan on enrolling in Overview of Environmental Statistics, you’ll learn the basics of how to apply statistics in your work. Through step-by-step instruction, you’ll train in the essentials of statistical analysis, including sampling methods, probability, confidence intervals and hypothesis tests. You’ll also get hands-on experience with basic R programming. By the end of this course, you’ll possess a stronger understanding of basic statistics and how to use these skills to improve your analysis and work.

Section Notes
This is an online, remote learning course, which consists of content and curriculum that is taught with pre-recorded and real time lectures, in addition to a real-time Q&A session with the instructors. Pre-recorded lectures and live sessions are accessed via our Canvas learning system and Zoom. Details regarding login information will be emailed out prior to the course start date.
This course will be available on Canvas from June 23-25, 2021. A live Zoom lecture and Q&A will be held date & time TBD. In the classroom environment, this course is equivalent to a one-day course.
We allow registration through the first morning of the course. It is expected that students review the prerecorded lectures before the live sessions in order to get the most value out of these meetings. We cannot extend course access beyond 11:59 PM on Friday 6/25, so students pursuing a late enrollment acknowledge that they will have less time to complete the materials.
