2 Course Series Leadership Development for Construction Professionals


Our online construction leadership courses are intended to build upon your existing skills and teach you how to inspire, motivate and create top-performing teams. Taught by respected industry leaders who understand the unique challenges common to the construction field, you will learn the communication skills, leadership strategies, and executive presence needed to succeed, whether you’re on the job site or in the board room.?

By enrolling Leadership Development for Construction Professionals (223LCM300), you will automatically be enrolled in:

  • Leadership in Construction (223LCM201)
  • Winning the Bid (223LCM202)

These courses will take place on Thursdays, 6-8 PM (PST), LIVE synchronous sessions via Zoom. 

Students begin their program experience by learning more about themselves as leaders and effective leadership practices for the construction field. Through a series of pre-recorded lectures and live class discussions, students will have a chance to utilize past professional experiences and use case studies to understand best practices for leadership. The class will then take high-level concepts in leadership and challenge students to apply prior knowledge from their classes and professional working experience.

  • Recognize how your strengths may affect your communication style

  • Identify the four quadrants of Emotional Intelligence. 

  • Explain how levels of supervision differ based on task and working style. 

  • Define the conflict style you are most likely to rely on 

Students will receive an email with login information to access the course the day before the first class.

Students are expected to participate in Zoom class meetings with working video and audio. Microphones should be turned off when not participating. Students are expected to remain engaged during class and conduct themselves professionally. Students can check their Zoom readiness by visiting https://zoom.us/test

Students will receive the UC Davis CPE Leadership Development for Construction Professionals Certificate for completing all six class sessions in both Leadership in Construction and Winning the Bid in the program. This program does not have grades.

The last day for enrollment is February 16th, 2023

Enrollment Policies

For a FULL Refund (less $30 fee), students must submit a withdrawal request prior to the start of the first class. February 16th, 2023.

For a 50% Refund (less $30 fee), students must submit a withdrawal request by the close of the business day after the first class session. February 17th, 2023.
