Strengthening Safety Culture Through Communication
Communicating occupational safety and health information effectively is crucial to preventing employee injuries and illness. In this course designed for EHS leaders, safety managers, supervisors and line workers, you’ll explore the behavioral tools that help create and promote a positive and healthy culture of safety at your organization. Through lecture, class discussion and an exploration of real-life case studies, you’ll learn about the four keys to effective safety communication: interactive, informative, positive and productive. You’ll also gain tools to help determine root causes of unsafe behavior and strategies on how to eliminate them. By the end of this course, you’ll possess the knowledge and tools to create a safer work environment for your colleagues and organization.

This is an online, remote learning course, which consists of content and curriculum that is taught with pre-recorded and real time lectures, in addition to real-time lecture/Q&A sessions with the instructors. Pre-recorded lectures and live sessions are accessed via our Canvas learning system and Zoom.
This course is open March 1 – March 3, with live sessions on March 3, 2:00-4:00PM PT.
Attendance of the live session is mandatory to receive credit for this course.
We allow registration through the 12:00 PM PST (noon) on the first day of the course. We cannot extend course access beyond 11:59 PM on 3/3, so students pursuing a late enrollment acknowledge that they will have less time to complete the materials.
