Ancestral Actions For Healthy Aging

This course begins with the premise of how evolutionary logic can help explain why living a healthy lifestyle is so difficult (in our sedentary culture) and what actions we can take to make improvements. The first session will include a lecture focusing on the barriers of living a healthy lifestyle and the motivational actions we can take to overcome them. The second session will focus on ancestral actions for healthy aging (e.g., sleep, healthy eating, social connection, physical activity and getting outdoors). Session two will also involve a demonstration of functional movement and how it relates to making daily life activities easier and improving the quality of life as we age.
