Area 3 Writing Project: Unleashing the Power of Digital Writing (Grades TK-5)

Digital literacy is embedded throughout the CCSS ELA standards, and technology is a key component of our instructional practice, regardless of content area.  We are all learning how to incorporate digital tools in our classrooms as a meaningful way to help students become digitally literate.

  • Use Google Apps that will get students to write collaboratively as well as create presentations, websites and blogs, including the complete Google classroom suite for responding to student writing and keeping track of student work.
  • Explore a wide variety of digital media production tools and ideas for iPads, iOS devices, Chromebooks and desktop computers.
  • Examples of digital media tools: iMovie, Padlet, Animoto, Nearpod and many others
  • Learn how to implement strategies in your classroom that will engage and inspire you and your students
