Narratives of persistence, faith, courage and creativity from the African American experience will be presented through documentaries covering periods, persons and events that are woven into the American experience. Subject matter may include writers such as James Baldwin, Toni Morrison, Alice Walker, activist/artists such as Harry Belafonte and Paul Robeson and others. No class on Feb. 16 (Presidents Day).
