Burning Man - a Photo Essay with Laurie Friedman

Free seminar! Once a year, thousands gather in Nevada's Black Rock Desert to create Black Rock City, a temporary metropolis dedicated to community, art, self-expression and self-reliance. Under a desert sun and moonlit nights, they enjoy a week of community, art, counterculture, free expression and celebration of identity. The gathering culminates in a symbolic burning of a large wooden effigy, after which all the attendees meticulously clean up and leave the natural desert as they found it. Enjoy one senior woman’s experience via lecture and photo essay live on Zoom with Davis photographer Laurie Friedman. Time for questions and discussion will be included. This presentation will be offered at no additional cost in accordance with the principles of Black Rock City philosophy.
