This 5-day institute supports the training of multi-subject credentialed TK-6th grade teachers in arts-integrated teaching to ensure that students are given access to standards-based arts curriculum alongside and within other content areas including science, mathematics, history, and English language arts. With the help of the Area 3 Writing Project, the California County Superintendents Association Arts Initiative, The California Arts Project, the Crocker Art Museum, and the California History-Social Science Project, participants will explore the multitude of ways that bringing art into the classroom in meaningful and expansive ways supports deeper student learning.
