Development Agreements, Public-Private Partnerships and Redevelopment 2.0

This course will discuss public-private partnerships and the legal and practical considerations impacting how cities, counties and private developers can collaborate on matters involving economic development. With the repeal of the redevelopment law, one critically important, long-time functioning tool has been eliminated. This class examines other techniques such as development agreements, infrastructure financing districts, special taxes and assessments as possible collaboration strategies for moving forward both public and private agendas.
