Take a moment to think about any of your favorite films and then consider the endings. Was it the actual conclusion of the film that made a lasting impact on you as a viewer? Resolution can be the most powerful tool for a filmmaker to leave a meaningful memory with the audience, whether it concludes with a twist, resolves the story arc, leaves an ambiguous question for the audience to answer or offers an expanded ending with an epilogue. In this course, we will view four films showcasing very different endings. Titles will include: The Big Short, American Beauty, The Prestige and Children of Men.
