For a respite from serious films, this course will concentrate on comedies and other light fare. After each showing, there will be ample time for discussion. Films: Im Juli (In July) – an ostensibly non-romantic road trip from Hamburg to Istanbul, SMS für dich (SMS for you) – a romantic comedy based on texting, Ein Geschenk der Götter (A Gift of the Gods) – an unusual activity for the unemployed, Keinohrhasen (No Ear Bunny) – in which a paparazzo is sentenced to 300 hours of community service in a kindergarten. Films will be shown in German with English subtitles.
