Built around topics selected by the Foreign Policy Association (FPA), the instructor invites participants to become better aware of and develop informed opinions on contemporary global issues that impact U.S. security, prosperity and core values. The course will devote eight sessions to the following issues: Russia and its neighbors, privacy in the digital age, sectarianism in the Middle East, India changes course, U.S. policy toward Africa, Syria’s refugee crisis, human trafficking, and Brazil’s metamorphosis. Rick Becker will lead the discussions aided by FPA-prepared written and video materials and provide insights on the foreign policy process drawn from his experience as a U.S. diplomat.
