Neil Young continues to write and perform uncompromising music after 50 years in the business. He is an innovator, inventor, spokesperson against injustices and advocate for the disadvantaged and marginalized segments of our society. His music represents a significant part of rock and roll music. As a follow-up to the Fall 2014 class, subject matter will focus on his music and works in the latter part of his career, from the late 1990s to the present. We will study his words and music relative to his personal, historical and sociological views of America. The class will be interactive, encouraging participant input.
