Nearly 75 percent of college faculty members in the United States are now temporary workers. This transition to a precariously employed professoriate, many of whom earn poverty-level wages, affects the nature of a college education, even as tuition rates and student debt skyrocket. This course will explore the various factors driving this phenomenon and consider the more significant political consequences of this new world of higher education.
