Discover this once active riverway while treating yourself to an insider’s view of seldom seen parts of Marin and Sonoma County. Today, marshland lies all along the river, a de-facto wilderness area, rich with wildlife – don’t forget to bring your binoculars and cameras. Enjoy the flowing, tranquil experience of the river and its inhabitants. We’re reaching out to Los Carneros appellation wineries to include a tastes of regional Los Carneros wines with appetizers during our cruise. Taste the influence of San Pablo bay that touches both this riverway and the grapes of Los Carneros.
Our group will travel from Davis to Petaluma by luxury motor coach. Course fees include bus and boat transport and lecture/commentary throughout the cruise by our captain and crew. Participants are encouraged to dress in layers appropriate to individual comfort and the weather, bring hats and sunscreen, a water bottle and any personal snacks or sack lunch to supplement the appetizers served. Bathrooms are available on board with a choice of enclosed seating or outdoor seating on the upper deck, accessible only by stairway.
Course fees are non-refundable. Parking and bus pick up location will be emailed one week in advance of the trip date. Course fees will be refunded ONLY if the purveyor cancels the trip due to marine or weather conditions or OLLI cancels the trip due to low enrollment.
