Our focus will be the first six months of U.S. participation in WWII, beginning with the attack on Pearl Harbor and concluding with the “miracle” at Midway. In addition to the how, what and why of the events themselves, we will consider their significance, not only to the outcome of the Pacific War but also in allowing the allies to carry out the “Germany first” strategy.
