Recovery Planning: Pre and Post Disaster

In this course, students will gain an overview of the distinct ways that California and other states and communities plan for disasters before and after they occur. Through group discussion and lecture, we will cover the key elements of disaster recovery plans and gain an understanding of FEMA’s National Disaster Recovery Framework, as well as the data sets typically used to inform recovery plans. Discover how various disciplines including, emergency management, environment, public health, and housing and community development practitioners approach disaster recovery planning.
