Sharing Stories: An Intergenerational Conversation

Stories of our experiences make up our lives. The stories we share can often inspire and delight others. However, we often share those stories only with people we think have similar experiences. Some of us don’t share our stories at all. This course offers a special opportunity to share stories with someone of a distinctively different age with the intention of expanding a world view of how life is and can be experienced. Elders and young people will be paired to share stories around facilitator-prompted topics. The process will also include times of sharing in their respective age group. The participants will enhance their skills of listening without judgment or evaluation, along with the skills of telling life stories in ways that reveal something about the storyteller. Limited enrollment.
