Sketch-Up for Landscape Architects: Site Analysis and Terrain Modeling

UC Davis Extension’s Land Use and Natural Resources Program (LUNR), in association with Daniel Tal, is pleased to offer a series of on line comprehensive training modules on how to use Sketch-up for various landscape architecture related tasks including site design, terrain modeling, visual representation and other 3- D modeling uses. The course will provide a variety of resources to working professionals seeking beginning and continued training in Sketch Up, 3-D modeling and site design. Coupled with question and answer webinars and the use of a full time Teaching Associate, landscape architecture professionals will receive immersive, hands on training in this digital technology as applied to landscape design solutions. Participants will be provided with three months of access to the online video lectures and tutorials. In addition, all participants receive tutorial models and handouts that serve as supplemental material to the main body of video tutorials. The video tutorials focus on site design and terrain modeling. Participants will watch a minimum of 6 to 8 hours of videos to complete the basic competency for use of Sketch Up. Additional tutorials (up to 8 hours additional) are included that go beyond basics, including intermediate and advanced modules on site design and terrain analysis.
