Travels with OLLI: Cuba, "Gem of the Caribbean"

Rob will share his November 2014 Cuba travel experiences, narrating his photographs, as he explores three distinctly different regions of the island nation. Beginning in Old Havana he will share the rich heritage of the city with cobblestone streets, tree-filled plazas, grand mansions, Hemingway's home, art studios and wonderfully maintained old cars. Moving out into the countryside he will share stories and images of the charming colonial towns of Cienfuegos and Trinidad de Cuba, which just celebrated the 500th anniversary of its founding. He will also describe and show images from one of the most remarkable wetlands of the Caribbean, the Zapata Peninsula. Wrapping up the presentation, he will describe his experiences in the rural countryside of the westernmost province called Pinar del Rio and the Vinales Valley. Please join Rob as he shares and describes his trip to Cuba, nicknamed the "Gem of the Caribbean.”
