Wading Through a Wetland Wonderland: Tidal Restoration in the Delta

A vast area of freshwater marsh that once stretched from Sacramento to Tracy to Antioch, the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta has been shaped by human activity throughout the last 150 years. In recent decades, scientists are learning much more about the fascinating fish and wonderful wildlife that rely on these wetlands. Today, some selected Delta sites are being restored to their former glory. We will go beyond the politics of California’s contentious water distribution system and focus on the science behind how tidal marshes provide food and habitat for some of the coolest fish on Earth!
