A Walking Tour of Historic Davis

Join a two-hour, two-mile walk around the oldest parts of what was, in 1868, the town of Davisville, guided by Davis native and Yolo County historian Joann Leach Larkey. This tour, with frequent stops, will begin at the Davis Railroad Junction and conclude at 226 F St. (Old City Hall). Sites include early homes and businesses; the locations of the city’s first schools, churches and fraternal lodges; plus a park that became part of the University State Farm in 1906. Questions and comments from participants will be encouraged. Following the tour, participants may choose to attend a no-host lunch at Bistro 33 to continue the discussion. Bring water bottles and wear comfortable shoes. Our group will meet in front of the Davis Railroad Depot building at 840 Second St., Davis. Limited enrollment.
