This course will cover the life of Walt Disney, one of the most influential showmen and entertainers of the 20th century. From his modest Midwest beginnings, he transformed animation into an art form that continues to be very successful well into this century. Never content to repeat past successes, he moved into live-action production, theme park development, television and, at the end of his life, he was focused on the plight of America’s urban cities. This course will also provide an overview of the Walt Disney Family Museum in San Francisco which opened in October 2009. In addition, video clips will be shown of Walt Disney.
