The three great Athenian dramatists each had a somewhat different worldview. This course will examine the way Aeschylus’ Clytemnestra, Sophocles’ Antigone and Euripides’ Phaedra personified each author’s conceptions of the proper relationship of humans with each other and with the “gods.” No class on February 19.
