Gain an overview of GIS in this hands-on workshop. Learn about terms and concepts, available systems and data sources. Develop a working knowledge of GIS, including the planning and design work involved with becoming an effective practitioner. The course will provide students with a hands-on experience with ArcMap and ArcCatalog (Version 10.x), as well as the newest Esri desktop platform, ArcGIS Pro. The first day and a half will cover the fundamentals of GIS in ArcMap and ArcCatalog (Version 10.x), with the remaining day and a half focused on the transition to ArcGIS Pro. By the end of this course, students will learn how to work with tables, creating layouts, and analysis in ArcGIS Pro.
