California Raptor Center and the Center for Animal Locomotion and Innovation
Go behind the scenes at the California Raptor Center, including a private tour of the new Center for Animal Locomotion and Innovation (CALI). Have a special look at the rehabilitation and care of hawks, owls, falcons and eagles. The Center for Animal Locomotion and Innovation brings engineering and veterinary medicine together. The center studies how birds fly to design better drones. It also uses advanced motion-capture tools to help heal injured wild raptors, for example. Participants will learn about raptor medicine, conservation and recovery efforts while exploring the center’s facilities and meeting some of its remarkable resident birds.

This field trip takes place in person at the California Raptor Center in Davis.
The meeting location and parking map will be emailed to enrolled participants during the week prior to the class. We will be meeting at the California Raptor Center.
Participants should be prepared to walk unassisted on paths. Please bring water and snacks, wear comfortable walking shoes, and dress in layers appropriate for the weather. A hat, sunglasses, and a camera are recommended.

Students receive an Enrollment Confirmation by email after enrolling in this field trip.
Enrollment Policies
Course enrollments close on November 2. Field trip fees are non-refundable after enrollment. If OLLI cancels a field trip, participants will receive a full refund. OLLI memberships are non-refundable and non-transferable.
