Habitat Conservation Plans (HCPs) and Natural Community Conservation Plans (NCCPs) help balance species conservation with responsible land use and development. This course focuses on the practical aspects of implementing regional conservation plans.

Learn strategies for administering conservation programs, managing habitat restoration, monitoring species and habitats, maintaining permit compliance and adapting plans as conditions change. Through real-world examples, you'll explore common implementation challenges and best practices for long-term conservation success.

Note: This course focuses on implementing HCPs and NCCPs. Students interested in developing these plans should enroll in Habitat Conservation Planning.

This five-day online course includes one (1) mandatory, live, instructor-led Zoom session. Students will access the program through Canvas, UC Davis CPE’s learning management system.
