UC Davis Arboretum: Instructive Species Along the Path

Take a guided walk through the UC Davis Arboretum to explore how plants reveal their survival strategies through form and structure. This course examines leaf size and texture, bark, root systems and seasonal growth patterns that help plants thrive in the Central Valley’s hot, dry summers and cool, wet winters. Participants will learn how to “read” plant morphology as evidence of adaptation, gaining new insight into California’s distinctive landscapes and climate.
