Annie Ernaux: Literature as an Act of Remembering
Examine the rise of the memoir through the work of Nobel laureate Annie Ernaux, known for blending autobiography and fiction. This course will focus on her second novel, Do What They Say or Else (1977), and the powerful memoir Happening (2000), exploring memory, identity and the literary form of personal narrative.
