From civil rights struggles to bureaucratic absurdity, film has long explored society’s deepest challenges. This course features The Help (2011), Hidden Figures (2016), Mississippi Burning (1988) and Brazil (1985)—four films that reveal social tensions and government shortcomings. Join us for thought-provoking discussions on how cinema reflects and critiques real-world injustice and inequality.
