Project Management for CEQA
Effective management of CEQA projects is a skill that any consulting or environmental management firm expects from aspiring employees. And yet, the ability to navigate a project through the complex CEQA process, while minimizing cost overruns and schedule delays, is not inherent and requires both on-the-job experience and professional training. In this course, designed for environmental consultants, developers, architects and engineers who need to work closely with environmental planners to obtain CEQA project approvals, you’ll learn the skills and best practices required to successfully manage CEQA projects.
Through lectures, class discussions and a review of relevant case studies, you’ll learn how to prepare air-tight scopes of work and realistic schedules; create and manage budgets; develop strategies for managing multi-disciplinary teams and sub consultants; and hone essential communication skills for use in scenarios involving team members, clients and/or the public. By the end of this course, you will possess the time-management, budgeting and communication skills and best practices necessary to be an effective CEQA project manager.
