Project Planning for Permit Integration

Online

Learn how to integrate environmental permitting and consultation requirements for projects subject to CEQA and NEPA. These acts affect natural or cultural resources, therefore many projects that are subject to CEQA and NEPA also require compliance with other major state and federal environmental laws. To obtain timely and cost-effective project approvals, CEQA/NEPA lead agencies and project applicants must navigate a complex permitting and consultation maze, including regulation of wetlands, endangered species and historic resources.

Receive an organized and proven 10-step strategy to:

  • Understand procedural and substantive requirements of major permitting and consultation programs
  • Determine which agencies must be consulted for review and permits
  • Integrate various environmental compliance requirements into the environmental process in order to improve the permitting processes
  • Reduce the time and cost of preparing environmental documents and implementing projects

This is an online, remote learning course, which consists of content and curriculum that is taught with pre-recorded and real time lectures, in addition to a real-time Q&A session with the instructors. Pre-recorded lectures and live sessions are accessed via our Canvas learning system and Zoom. Details regarding login information and dates of live sessions will be emailed out prior to the course start date.

This course will be available on Canvas from October  5-7, 2021. A live Zoom lecture and Q&A will be held on Thursday October 7, 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM (PDT). In the classroom environment, this course is equivalent to a one-day course.

We allow registration through the first morning of the course. It is expected that students review the prerecorded lectures before the live sessions in order to get the most value out of these meetings. We cannot extend course access beyond 11:59 PM on Thursday 10/7, so students pursuing a late enrollment acknowledge that they will have less time to complete the materials. Please contact the course representative with any questions.

Enrollment Policies

Drop requests (withdraw with a refund) will be approved, less a $30 processing fee, if the request is received seven calendar days before the course begins. Click here to view complete enrollment policy information including details on withdrawals and transfers.
