Brewing Practical Boot Camp
Get intensive, hands-on brewing experience at UC Davis during this annual, weeklong course offered in early fall.
In this immersive brewing experience, you’ll:
- Brew on the UC Davis pilot brewing system and work alongside industry experts in the August A. Busch III Brewing and Food Science Laboratory
- Put brewing science into practice through hands-on brewing and analysis
- Develop practical skills in brewing operations, laboratory analysis and quality control
- Gain a deeper understanding of how ingredients, processes and quality come together in the brewhouse
This course is designed for:
- Students of the online Master Brewers Certificate Program seeking an in-person brewing experience
- Brewers with existing knowledge or experience who want focused, hands-on training
- Brewing professionals looking to strengthen their practical skills
No formal prerequisites are required. Brewing knowledge is recommended and participants must be at least 21 years old. Offered once a year in early Fall in Davis, California.
Master Brewers Certificate Program
Prepare for a career in professional brewing or take your existing brewing career to the next level with comprehensive education in brewing science and brewery engineering. Choose from in-person or online formats to fit your goals.
Through the program, you’ll develop expertise in:
- Brewing raw materials, wort production and fermentation
- Cellar and laboratory operations
- Brewery engineering and packaging
- Sensory science, beer quality, safety and sustainability
This program is designed for:
- Aspiring brewers preparing to enter the brewing industry
- Brewing professionals seeking advanced scientific and technical knowledge
Applications are accepted year-round. The online program begins in January and the in-person program begins in April each year.
