There is a 3 CEU option for those participating in the UC Davis Mathematics Project institute. Participants will unpack the CCSS-M Content Standards for 3rd through 5th grade and make connections to the Standards for Mathematical Practice using a series of hands-on and minds-on activities. Topics include: making connections to prior knowledge and the structures of mathematics; recognizing patterns, strategies and models for teaching multiplication and division of whole numbers operations with fractions and decimals; engaging students in developing conceptual understanding, procedural fluency, and mathematical thinking.
