The summer institute brings teachers of diverse backgrounds together to examine and critique research, discuss writing practices, and engage in professional and personal writing. Throughout the three-week course, you will hear from expert teacher consultants about writing in their classrooms, experience lesson demonstrations from your fellow participants, read essential texts for creating an equity centered classroom focused on writing, develop the skills to become a teacher consultant in our writing community, and produce writing ready for publication.
