Low Impact Development

Low Impact Development (LID) is a stormwater management technique that mimics natural landscape functions to reduce flooding, mitigate environmental impacts, and provide multiple community benefits.  New post-construction stormwater control requirements emphasize LID practices including site design and structural controls. LID is also being increasingly used as a means to retrofit the existing urban landscape to provide water quality and community benefits.  This class has been updated to a modern webinar format feature four one and a half hour lectures. There will also be an opportunity to learn about the LID BMP Selection and Sizing Tool, which is being created by the Office of Water Programs at Sacramento State University to support compliance with the new Phase II Small MS4 General Permit.
