This online learning course is approved for academic credit equivalent to five units of UC Davis in-class Spanish coursework.  

Expand your world, career and educational opportunities by learning to speak Spanish at home using the engaging and entertaining Tesoros (Treasures). Through a combination of multimedia materials and online interactions with instructors and classmates, you will improve your grasp of the Spanish language while hunting for treasure in this interactive program.

Develop oral comprehension skills with a variety of accents from Spain and Latin America, read authentic texts, practice writing, and begin a first-year grammar and vocabulary sequence. Explore the cultures of 21 Spanish-speaking countries.

Learn Spanish in the convenience of your home or anywhere. Using the class website, you receive daily guidance for language study and communicate with partners and study groups in order to complete class assignments within the timeframe given by the syllabus.

The materials and exercises focus on developing oral comprehension skills with a variety of Spanish accents from Spain and Latin America, reading knowledge of authentic texts, guided writing practice, a grammar and vocabulary sequence, and cultural awareness of the 21 countries that make up the Spanish-speaking world.

Expect to spend 10 hours a week studying each of the five lessons included in this course. Participate in group activities and projects online.
