World History Seminar for Teachers

The World History Seminar is a three-day examination of a theme in world history that connects curriculum topics across grades six, seven and ten as aligned to the California History-Social Science Curriculum Framework and Content Standards. The seminar will showcase faculty talks that explore the content theme using at least one specific example per grade level plus a talk to introduce the theme across all three grades. The Project will guide teachers to work with year-long, unit and lesson inquiry questions to infuse the theme into their classrooms. Additionally, the Project will model historical thinking and literacy strategies and provide primary and secondary sources for teachers to outline a lesson to address them in their own classroom.
