Franklin and Eleanor: The Moral and Political Dimensions of the Presidency

Online
Franklin Roosevelt once said the presidency was “pre-eminently a place of moral leadership.” Yet he was also a practical politician who sometimes put aside morality for political advantage. Eleanor Roosevelt was often his conscience, reminding him to do what was right. We’ll explore their relationship, learning how moral vision and practical politics may clash but also combine to create needed change.
